1965. Time of young and energetic. The Rock-n Rolla era, hippies and the wars of two nuclear powers for championship in all areas of science, technology and industry. The great event is the first exit to the outdoor space in history, which was made by the Soviet cosmonaut Alexei Leonov. But not only in science there was an event that took a place of honor in history textbooks. In March of 65, the US Armed Forces entered into a civil war in Vietnam, the war, which lasted 10 years and ended with a major defeat of America. And if the first event and its meaning have become forgotten over time, then the second continues to live, in many ways, due to a large number of films, books, musical works and computer games.
45 years after the start of the military campaign in Viet Kong, the Swedish company Dice produces one of the best network militants in 2010 – Battlefield Bad Company 2. The game received high grades of critics and was very well met by players, and, given the current trends, DLC output to it was only a matter of time. And now this time has come, 10 months after the release of the original, the light saw the Vietnam addition.
Let’s try to figure out what it is.
To begin with, going to Vietnam’s virtual jungle without an original version of a bad company 2 will not work, and any of the methods of delivery of additions only offers the key to activate it. The developers simply included the entire new content in one of the patches. In the game menu, we get through the button in the client Bad Company. This is where the first changes begin. The new screensaver and color design is not surprising, but the hearing rejoices, because, instead of ordinary background music, we hear a composition that absorbed the spirit of that time and that war – Fortunate Son, performed by the Creedence Clearwater Revival group. It could be heard in that part of the film forrest Gump that is dedicated to his service and participation in the war with North Vietnam, in the games of Battlefield Vietnam 2004 and in the recent Call of Duty Black Ops. The minus lies in the fact that the song plays the same, each time when starting the game, and this is strange, given that the game has other tracks (2 hours of authentic music, about which the Diacs were trumpeted at all stages of development).

There is no new single https://sportazacasino.co.uk/bonus/ -user campaign (the creators initially stated that the DLC will be multiplayer), but this is not important, in Bad Company 2 it was only an appendage to network battles. Even in the menu, you can familiarize yourself with the new list of weapons, which is 15 units + new models for additional types of weapons, for example, instead of a chance tool, now a burner, the defibrillator has become a syringe with adrenaline, and the under -barrel grenade launcher is replaced by the legendary M79.
The technique also underwent changes – 2 tanks, 3 units of light equipment, 1 helicopter and 1 boat, from now on there are no stationary guns in the game, which additionally complicates the life of the team without engineers and scouts. It’s a shame that the new stripes or badges were not brought, because it is always nice to show friends how cool you are and what you have reached.
It will not be possible to see anything more remarkable in the menu, which means it is time to start the most important thing – we are going to war! And here it begins interesting. The game began to look different – graphics, loading screens and videos are stylized for a documentary film, the participants of which we are.
The fighters are very colorful, a young technician in glasses, reminiscent of a character from the movie "All -metal shell", and a British sniper, Viet Congovian physician who, more like a peasant, and a one -eyed saboteur are only some of the characters of those that we will meet on the battlefields. In addition to models, negotiations on radio were rewritten, discovering the enemy, the American attack aircraft shouts “Charlie Coming!"When he sees the enemy, and the Vietnamese soldier will ask for a box with cartridges in his native language. And while we are talking about the infantry, I will mention the change in the class "scout". From now on, this is a new class and it is worth calling the “saboteur”, the reason is simple-the game no longer there are no motions and sight sensors that mark the enemy (there were simply no such technologies in the 70s), in return our brave fighter can use the explosives at the same time (came to replace C4) and calling artillery support. This opens up new tactical opportunities to the players and complicates the life of tankers, since already 2 types of soldiers can fully destroy heavy equipment.
Where our new heroes have to fight? As I already mentioned, we have been prepared by 5 new cards, they have everything that needs to be seen in the Vietnamese campaign-the jungle, the ruins of the old temple, rice fields and the earth burned with napalm, their size is not inferior to the original, and the quality of execution does not reach the assessment “excellent” only because of the bad balance in some modes. It is enough to see the “Height 137” card once – and you will understand how beautiful Vietnam is. The destruction of objects on the map is not very pleasing – all the hibars (except ruins and stone temples) are shot at the “Hurray” even from the pistol, you can only hide in such a shelter, but you will not work to completely demolish such a reed, even if you beat it close from the tank. The maximum of what you will achieve is to break a couple of walls, in my opinion it is a big Fail developer.
Time to talk about technology. If you played the original bad company, then remember how vulnerable combat helicopters were, experienced engineers at the moment hung magnetic beacons at them, because of which the flight could end a minute after takeoff. Now, to shoot down helicopters, there are a technology for the beacons these days, and not 35 years ago. The only helicopter in the game is the legendary Huey now a thunderstorm of everything that moves. Experienced pilots will not even frighten the fact that the cabin is shot from all types of weapons, since it is almost not possible to knock the helicopter of the infantry, and the equipment like tanks, boats or jeeps with machine guns is far from on all cards. The flying fortress itself is equipped with missiles (they are produced by a pilot) and two machine guns (one for each side, they are controlled by passengers).
Not only helicopters were strengthened. The new PBR boat has two guns, the main one is a dual machine gun of a huge slaughter force and an additional – a simple machine gun. This miracle of technology can give a huge advantage, thanks to its opportunity to destroy infantry, light equipment and helicopters as soon as possible. The patrol boat could go on power along with a helicopter, but he has nothing to oppose the heavy armor. The difference between tanks T -54 and M -48 is only external (and from their grandchildren T -90 and Abrams differ the same), because I just say there is no way to put opponents detector, and when choosing a gadget, “additional weapons of equipment” will not give you a machine gun, but flaps. The tank is the best remedy for helicopters, well exterminates all living things.
Light technique is represented by a funny three-wheeled scooter of the tuk-knuck, easily recognizable “Willis” and the Soviet GAZ-69, the first is the transporter, and machine guns are installed on the other two others. There is another innovation. In American techniques, you can listen to music!
This opportunity is realized through one place – and some people do not work out for some, because I will try to help with its activation. Firstly, you need to find the Gamesettings file.Ini in the folder “Your user’s name \ my documents \ bfbc2 \” and change the line Carradio = 0 to Carradio = 1. We save the file and start the game itself, in the game we go to the settings – equipment and assign a button for "scrolling radio" (similar to air equipment). That’s all! Now it is enough to climb into the technology of US production and press the assigned button. Pleasant listening! (And do not forget to set the volume of music higher in the settings).
The weapon, unlike Bad Company 2, does not look like plastic toys, each barrel is worked out to the smallest details, from the spots of rust and scratches on the PPSh, to the inscription "Make War, Not Love" carved on the butt of a machine gun. Gorgeous sound effects enhance the impression of shooting, it is enough to “boil” from the sniper M40 at least once to understand that this thing brings death to your enemies. Apart in the list is a weapon whose analogues were not in the original. I’m talking about flamethrower, its appearance is due to the presence on some maps of dugouts, trenches and narrow aisles. The efficiency of weapons is achieved due to damage by the area and the effect of ignition, causing damage over time. Well, we must not forget about the psychological effect, some enemies are simply lost when you burn everything in your path – and panic in such cases of death is like.
Time sums up. The addition is great, without exaggeration, it may well be considered a new game on the same engine. There are disadvantages, but they do not interfere with enjoying the game. Even outdated graphics are not so striking, thanks to magnificent stylization and attention to the slightest detail. If you like good network militants, you are interested in the war in Vietnam and you want to plunge into the atmosphere of films such as a platoon and an entire -metal shell – this game is for you!
